Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, urged young Nigerian graduates to apply for a fellowship programme hosted by the United Nations Development Programme even though the deadline for application had passed.
The Presidential spokesperson shared a link to the UNDP Fellowship on his Twitter handle on Thursday, March 24 although the application phase had expired since October 2021.
He wrote, “Our young graduates may wish to apply for the Graduate Fellowship Programme by UNDP. They will place 20,000 graduates into 1-year internships in various multinational companies and development partners. The salary is good and the experience is unquantifiable.
“The link for the fellowship is njfp.ng. It is co-sponsored by UNDP and the EU. This is a great opportunity for our unemployed graduates. Please help us give it widest publicity.”

Launched in August 2021, the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) is a youth empowerment partnership initiative between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The program brings together fellows and organisations whose interests aligned together.
The deadline for the 2021 application phase of the programme had passed, however, host organisations were still opportune to apply, a note on the website stated.
