Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign highly rated 16-year-old winger Heaven Kilwa from Aston Villa for their academy, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Kilwa has already completed and signed the necessary paperwork with Manchester City, with the Premier League’s five-step process now ongoing before the move can be fully completed.
The teenage winger has attracted significant attention during his time in Aston Villa’s academy and has represented England at youth level.
He was born in February 2010 and is listed as a forward for Aston Villa’s youth side.
Manchester City’s interest in Kilwa has been reported for several months.
Earlier reports indicated that the youngster was expected to leave Aston Villa after rejecting a scholarship offer, with City emerging as one of the clubs interested in securing his services.
The move would represent another addition to Manchester City’s academy recruitment strategy, with the club continuing to invest in promising young players who could develop into first-team options in the future.
Kilwa’s arrival is expected to give him the opportunity to continue his development within one of England’s strongest academy setups.
While the agreement has been reached and paperwork signed, the Premier League’s required process still needs to be completed before the transfer can officially be finalised.
